Dear Parents and Carers,


Dairy Dates - Monday 14th October - Friday 18th October 
We start the week with Year 6 boys continuing with their outdoor pursuits course and year 3 continuing with their 101 Dalmatians library project. After school we have the Scholastic book fair and parents evening. 
On Tuesday morning from 8.30 am Cathy Forrester, our school nurse will be available at the school office to answer any health questions you may have. In the afternoon some of the KS2 pupils will be participating in the Tag Rugby tournament at Drapers’ Brookside. Rowan spinebreakers are visiting Hilldene library and music lessons continue with FrontRow. After school the book fair will continue in the new hall and we have the second parents evening after school. At 6.30 pm on Tuesday evening we are hosting a Child Exploitation & County Lines talk. 
On Wednesday the school photographer Carmel Jones is in school for individual, sibling and family group photographs. LAMDA lessons continue in the afternoon. It is the last scholastic book fair, so if you haven’t picked up any new reading material yet, it is your last chance. 
On Thursday morning Cherry class are visiting MOD pizza in Romford to prepare and cook their pizzas. FrontRow music lessons continue in the afternoon and there is a football match after school against Harold Court on the field. 
On Friday, year 5 will be participating in an Ancient Greek experience to enhance their history learning. We finish school at 3.00 pm for the half term break.   


Scholastic Autumn Book Fair 
The Book Fair will be after school on Friday 11th and Monday 14th, Tuesday 15th and Wednesday 16th October  in the new hall. Every pupil who purchases a book will be entered into a raffle where they could win themselves more fabulous reading material!

Year 6 Parents - 31st October 2019
The deadline for applying for secondary school places is fast approaching. Please ensure that you have registered for an online account and applied for a secondary place before this date. If you require any assistance please come into the office and see Mrs Taylor. 

County Lines Talk - Tuesday 15th October @ 6.30 pm 
We are hosting a presentation evening from Peter Wilson from the Metropolitan Police (Trident), regarding Child Criminal Exploitations and County Lines within Havering. This important information will assist with equipping members of the public and parents to be vigilant in supporting all children / young people regardless as to where they live. These talks have been very well received and are highly recommended for parents. 

Autumn Term Parent Consultation Evening - Monday 14th & Tuesday 15th October 
We are looking forward to welcoming all parents on Monday 14th & Tuesday 15th October for parent consultation meetings. You will have the opportunity to meet your child’s new class teacher and find out how they have settled so far this year. The teachers will also explain the expectations for the end of the year your child. Your appointment time will be sent home on Monday 7th October. 


After School Clubs
Due to parents evening, there are no after school clubs on Monday 14th or Tuesday 15th October. All pupils must be collected at 3.0 pm from their classrooms as normal. After school clubs will resume on Wednesday 16th October. 


School Photographer - Wednesday 16th October
The photographer from Carmel Jones is in school on Wednesday 16th Octoberto take individual, family groups and sibling photographs for pupils from nursery to year 6.
If you would like a family photograph please wait at the lower gates by the new hall on Wednesday morning at 8.00 am, the photographer should be ready to start at about 8.15 am. 
Make sure that your hair is brushed and teeth are clean so you are ready for your close up. 


Pupil Premium 
For every pupil who is eligible for Free School Meals, our school receives funding of £1,300 per year for six years. Even KS1 children who receive Universal Free School Meals may still be eligible for this funding. If your child is eligible for this funding you would also receive:


  • £40 voucher per child, per year to assist with the cost of school uniform redeemable at Premier Schoolwear.
  • Assistance with contributions towards school trips and residential visits.
  • After school clubs can continue to be free of charge.  


If you are in receipt of one of the following you are eligible.  Please visit the school office and see Mrs. Taylor.


  • Income Support
  • Income based Jobseeker’s Allowance
  • Income related employment and support allowance
  • Support under part VI of the Immigration & Asylum Act 1999
  • Child Tax Credit ( provided you are not entitled to Working Tax Credit and whose annual income (as assessed by the Revenue and Customs) does not exceed £16,190


Havering Catering Services
Week beginning Monday 14th October  is week 1 on the Havering catering services menu. All meals are served with unlimited salad and vegetables and cost £2.25. 
Please be reminded to top up your child’s catering account as we cannot provide dinners for pupils whose accounts exceed a debt of £10.
