Name The Dog Competition Winner

Lennox Children’s Cancer Fund

Last week the children took part in a name the dog competition for the Lennox Children's Cancer Fund. First they had to donate a pound, then they could choose a square on the board. On every square was a name for the cute and cuddly toy dog. When the envelope was opened it revealed the name of: Ellie Cater

Thank you for all the donations, which totalled: £51

This money will help LCCF continue their wonderful work.

WHAT THEY DO…

Since the charity started in 1992, they have gained the experience and knowledge needed to provide the correct support that is so desperately needed during the emotional rollercoaster of childhood cancer. For the families of one in every 600 children, childhood cancer is an inescapable reality and the treatment over the following months only increases stress and anxiety for both the parents and siblings.

Often one or both parents will need to give up employment to care for their sick child. Lennox CCF offer Care Grants to support them during this time, and we do so with the minimum of fuss. Care Grants can be used to cover a wide range of expenses such as utility bills, travel to/from hospital appointments, clothing for weight loss/gain due to treatment or even in some sad case, funeral costs.

Throughout the year, LCCF also offer respite breaks to give families a much deserved break away from doctors, hospitals and treatment. These breaks are an essential resource that gives each family the opportunity to enjoy some quality time together away from their daily routine and coping with such a terrible illness. They are provided free of charge and often with additional spending money!
