Literacy Week Celebrations:

This week has seen a number of events for Literacy Week as we celebrate reading and writing. Our author visit from Tom Banks on Tuesday was a great success. Today we have had Petr Horacek talking about his work to Reception, Year 1 & Year 2. Look out for videos and pictures on the blog.

On Thursday afternoon our spinebreakers had their audience with the Children’s Laureate – Malorie Blackman. All of them thoroughly enjoyed this unique experience. The dress up day was a great success. Thank you for the effort that you made with the costumes, the children looked stunning. Capping it off was the Inter House Literacy quiz. With questions about book titles, first lines from novels and links to movies, it tested the children’s literary knowledge. Green team emerged at the victors and lifted the quiz trophy!
