Fact Hunters: Princesses & Lakes

This week we have had a tremendous number of interesting facts being shared by the children. Congratulations to the following children who have amazed us with their ability to hunt out interesting snippets of information:

Samanyu Handoo
Did you know that the midnight sun is a natural phenomenon that occurs in the local summer months in places north of the Arctic Circle or south of the Antarctic Circle, when the sun remains visible at the local midnight?

Leah Joyce
Were you aware that Lake Hillier in Australia is a bright pink color and scientists aren't sure why.

Maliat Bakreen
Elizabeth 1was born a princess, but lost this status when Henry decided to have Anne's head chopped off. After this and until she was "Queened" she was Lady Elizabeth.

Tia Thakhar
In the newborn infant the head represents about a quarter of the total length; in the adult it represents about one-seventh!
