Winter Weather and Clothing
Now that the weather is getting wetter and colder, please ensure that children come to school with appropriate outdoor clothing on eg, winter coats and sensible shoes. Please ensure that on the days that your child has Forest School sessions that they arrive in school wearing their school uniform. (School PE or white t-shirt, navy blue tracksuit trousers or leggings, school or navy blue  sweatshirt) and that they are wearing suitable footwear (trainers or a pair of welly boots that they can put on before the session would be wonderful.

Forest School sessions take place in all weathers, so it is very likely the children will get wet and muddy. Making sure your child is wearing appropriate clothing will ensure that they will enjoy the sessions. Forest Schools and PEl take place on the same day as PE.

Breakfast
We are thrilled to announce that we are now providing breakfast to ALL pupils in school.. In partnership with the National Breakfast Programme each day pupils will have access to breakfast bagels when they have arrived in their classroom. The programme is committed to supporting child development, and believes a healthy school breakfast, without barrier or stigma, can set up children to succeed and give them the very best chance to learn.
This is in addition to our normal breakfast club provision which parents will need to continue to book through the sQuid system.

Sports for Schools
We’re very excited to be welcoming top athlete Frederick Afrifa to Broadford Primary School on Friday 22 October 2021.

Frederick Afrifa will be leading a sponsored fitness circuit with all pupils and follow-up with a talk and question and answer session for the school. The aim of the event is to inspire the pupils to be more physically active, but just as importantly to encourage them to discover and then pursue their passion in life.
The aim of the event is both to connect the pupils to an extraordinary athlete role model, and to raise money to improve physical activity for the school while also supporting GB athletes (including Paralympic athletes).
A sponsorship form will come home with your child to use in order to help raise money for the event. You can also sponsor your child by going to

www.sportsforschools.org

and clicking on “Set up a fundraiser page”:
Please ensure that sponsorship forms and moneys are returned to the school office 1 week after the event has taken place.
Please also make sure that your child/children come to school on the event day with their PE Kits!
Thank you in anticipation of creating a terrific and memorable event.
