A Busy Week:It certainly has been a very busy week. Reading has been a particular focus as our children have been visiting the library, getting their library cards and loaning their first books from Hilldene. In Year 5&6 our book club pupils were taken up to London to see War Horse following their book study. We had a story teller in KS1 and the EYFS yesterday as part of National Story Telling Week. Today we had an outstanding teacher – Jonathon Lear – in working with pupils and teachers to further develop teaching and planning across the school. On Tuesday our Year 5&6 pupils built their Victorian toys, an activity which they thoroughly enjoyed.
Next Week:Tuesday 5th February is Safer Internet Day. This is a great chance to remind your children about some key pointers: never give out personal details on the internet, only use age appropriate websites, only use kind language when texting or typing and speak to an adult if there is something they see which upsets them. We advise all the children to never share their passwords, but it is great if you can reiterate this at home.
On Friday the children have a drama workshop with the Freshwater Theatre. This is part of the work we are doing on the Tudors in Year 3&4.
