Safer Internet Day 2013 - Tuesday 5th February

Tuesday 5th February is Safer Internet Day. With the spread of mobile devices, games consoles, phones, tablets, computers and internet TVs it is more important than ever to ensure that your children are safe online.

We have provided some simple materials that could help you keep your children safe. The message is that we believe the internet is a fantastic learning resource. If children are to learn about it, they must be able to use it. However some simple steps can ensure they are experiencing it safely.

2. Watch this video from CEOP to see how easily your children can share private information with complete strangers. Social networking accounts have age restrictions for a reason. Facebook - which has a minimum age of 13 - is still one of the most popular with our pupils. They share photos, information and comments without realising how easily the information can be obtained by people they have never met.


3. Safe Search with Google. This video gives you a guide to how you can help to keep the content of your children's web searches safe:
