It is incredibly important that we instill in the pupils a sense of routine and an understanding of the value of purposeful practice. The children should be practicing their spellings every night to ensure that they are able to use the words in their writing as well as in the spelling test. Some pupils have managed to do their job consistently for a whole half term… never missing a week! As promised, this morning we had a prize draw for those children who have managed to bring in their Spelling Books every week, signed and with the spellings filled in.
They will get an extra, free trip to London as a reward!
Congratulations to the following children who have been drawn out of the lucky bucket for the trip!

I find this abit unfair on the other children that also do their spellings daily and achieve high results weekly. I do not see that this is any insentive to them? Will they be rewarded in another way?

ReplyDeleteAll of the children who managed to bring in their spelling books for every week of the whole half term were entered into the prize draw. 10 names were pulled from the KS1 bucket and 10 names from the KS2 bucket. All of the pupils who had 100% for handing their books in will get a certificate.
