LAMDA Workshops

Our pupils have been working very hard in their LAMDA classes to improve their public speaking. Each week they work through a range of activities to develop their projection, posture and enunciation. Not only do you have to learn the speech off by heart, you have to perform it!

I have been trying to work on the acting. When I see the lion in my speech I have to cower down and pretend to be scared!

Leanne - our teacher - is really enthusiastic. When she read an extract from George's Marvellous Medicine, it was like watching a scene from a film. I've learnt that you have to stand in a certain way to improve your projection!

LAMDA is one of the UK’s oldest and most respected awarding organisations. We have been offering practical examinations in communication and performance subjects for over 130 years. In this time, our qualifications have helped hundreds of thousands of candidates of all ages and abilities to develop lifelong skills.

What is LAMDA?
LAMDA exams are about achievement – recognising and rewarding the endeavours of each individual – but they are also about empowerment. Our ultimate aim is to provide our pupils with the opportunity to develop the life skills they need to be a success: attributes such as self-confidence and the ability to communicate clearly and present ideas.

At the heart of LAMDA examinations is the recognition that the qualifications are for everyone. Across the globe, their examinations unite learners of all ages, abilities, backgrounds and cultures in enthusiasm for the English language and a desire to develop skills for life.
