Last week Mandy started with her third batch of cookery apprentices. The first group did extremely well learning about food hygiene, healthy diets, portion sizes, health and safety rules in the kitchen and basic food preparation.
Mandy takes each group for 6-7 weeks to complete a course that introduces them to a range of aspects about working in a professional kitchen and the practical steps they should take when cooking at home.
"Now I know about how to store raw meat away from other foods. We learnt about how we can minimise the spread of bacteria just by keeping surfaces clean and washing our hands." Shaun Green
No doubt the newest recruits will benefit just as much from the sessions!
