Thames Chase Volunteers Build Nature Area

For the last two weeks we have been having help from the Thames Chase Conservation Volunteers. Based at Thames Chase (Pike Lane, Upminster) the volunteers help schools with nature projects. We are having the following constructed:

• dipping pond
• bug hotel
• wildflower garden
• 100m of hedgerow
• bumble bee run
• giant planters

Unfortunately the first week was rather wet, but this Thursday the sunshine was glorious. The whole team worked extremely hard to clear and prepare the ground. Hopefully the work will be mostly completed in the next two sessions.
