Dear Parents and Carers,
Part 1 Broadford News
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas & Happy New Year:
As we come to the close of another wonderful year, we would like to take a moment to thank you for your continued support and partnership. It has been a joy watching the children grow, learn, and achieve so much throughout the year.
This season gives us the opportunity to reflect on many special moments and accomplishments, and we are truly grateful to share them with you. Your involvement and encouragement make a meaningful difference, and we appreciate the trust you place in us every day.
As the holiday approaches, we wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas filled with peace, joy, and special memories. May the New Year bring happiness, good health, and exciting opportunities for you and your children.
Thank you again for being such an important part of our community. We look forward to welcoming everyone back refreshed and ready for another great year ahead on 5th January.
Christmas Dinner
This week our catering staff cooked and served Christmas dinner for our school community. I can personally state that it was delicious. Thank you to Michelle and the kitchen team for keeping us all happy and full not just at Christmas but throughout the year.
Goodbye!
As we come to the end of the autumn term we are saying goodbye to a few members of staff who are leaving our Broadford family.
Today we are saying Goodbye to Mrs Johnston after nearly 30 years service to Broadford. Mrs Johnston will be very much missed and will leave a massive hole behind her. Over the years she has not just been a TA but first aider, medical expert, outdoor adventurer and chief bonfire starter during our annual Mersea residential trips.
Thank you Mrs Johnston for your commitment, dedication and care for our pupils. The pupils who you have worked with over the years have been blessed by your guidance. Thank you.
We wish you well for your retirement.
We already said goodbye to Miss Hurrell earlier this term, who has given birth to another gorgeous boy. Congratulations to Miss Hurrell and her family!
We are saying goodbye to Mrs Marie and Miss Jarvis who both start their maternity leaves and wait for their arrivals. We are looking forward to hearing your wonderful news early next year.
Fundraising
As always, thank you for your generous contributions and support towards our fundraising activities. Due to our festive activities including personalised card, gifts and t-towels, festive fun run, discos, Father Christmas visit and our annual Christmas raffle we have raised a whooping £4103. This is going towards our savings to refloor the gym area outside so that pupils can use the area more freely.
Look out for details of the Mothers’ day sale and a special mini marathon sponsored event next term.
First Day of 2026 - Monday 5th January
We are looking forward to seeing all children back at school in January 2026. There are no clubs at the beginning of term, so all pupils should be picked up promptly by 3.15pm.
