100% Attendance & Attendance League.

We have some impressive statistics for our attendance this term.

115 pupils have managed to maintain a perfect score which means that 23% of our population is at 100%.

17 of them come from KS1 and 98 from KS2.

We were delighted to reward them with their certificates and badges this week.

Well done on ensuring that you have done Job #1 brilliantly… turn up every day on time!

Lots of other pupils received a 96%+ award and are still in the running for some extra bouncy time during Go Bonkers day!

Congratulations to Pine and Cedar class who have managed to finish top of the class attendance league. Their overall total of 119 and 123 means that they have really earned their reward which they will enjoy at the beginning of the new year!

Super Spellers Autumn Term

These pupils have shown real resilience by ensuring that they didn't drop a single point in their spelling tests across the autumn term!

As a reward for their endeavour, each pupil received £5 of vouchers and a shiny certificate!

Congratulations!

Weekly Newsletter - Tuesday 20th December, 2022

Headteacher: Mrs L Nicholls

Dear Parents and Carers,

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

In this final newsletter of the year, I would like to thank you all for the support you have shown the school over the last 12 months. Watching all the children come into school this morning, speaking with parents and talking to the staff you would be hard pressed to know that we are at the end of the longest term of the year. Certainly, we have lots to smile about with all that your children have achieved during 2022 and they can all finish the year with a great deal of pride.

Broadford is such a wonderful place to work because we have such a strong community spirit. We value your support and the way you have championed the success of your children. Everyday I continue to be inspired by the pupils and my colleagues and all that they do together to make Broadford the special and unique school that it is.

Thank you as well for all the cards and gifts that have been given to staff. On behalf of them I would like to thank you for your kindness and generosity. I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year… see you in 2023!

Goodbye!
Mrs Rice has started her maternity leave but there is no baby news as yet. Today we say goodbye to Mrs Hathaway who has been teaching with us since 2019. Mrs Hathaway is taking some time away from teaching and we wish her all the best with her future plans.
Mrs Gradley is leaving us and moving to a SEN  school after nearly 10 years at Broadford and teaching 300 children. We wish Mrs Gradley all the best for her future and we shall miss her positive attitude very much. Mrs Gradley wanted to express her thanks to the Broadford community;

I have had the absolute pleasure to call Broadford my home for the past 10 years. I have worked in every single year group with the most amazing colleagues and senior leadership team. I wanted to take this time to say goodbye to all of my past and present pupils and wish you all the absolute best for 2023. As part of my teaching journey I have always wanted to work in a specialist school and I will be leaving Broadford to become a SEN teacher in a local Havering school.

I will miss my class and year group so much and all of the children I have had the pleasure to teach and work with. Our children at Broadford are amazing and inspiring people. I laugh everyday that I come to school and love watching all of the many lightbulb moments I have witnessed during my time here. I will truly miss everyone.

Thank you to all of the parents and carers for your support during my time here.

Lastly, I just wanted to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Well done to all of the members of yellow house for displaying pupil job number 3 - being kind and polite to everyone that they meet.

First Day of 2023

We are looking forward to seeing all children back at school in January 2023. There are no clubs at the beginning of term, so all pupils should be picked up promptly by 3.10pm. Essex After School Clubs will commence on the first day of term and are available for childcare until 6.00pm. School opens again on Thursday 5th January – Breakfast Club at 7.45am – with the doors opening at 8.30am for all other pupils.

Start of Day Arrangements for 2023
During the snow, we felt very nostalgic and remembered how great it used to be that all children used to come through the same gate every morning and start the day together. Lots of parents commented last week on how great it was to start the day at the front of the school. So we have listened to your feedback and from the 5th January we would like to revert to our former morning routine. This involves all pupils coming through the main gate in front of the school office.
Nursery pupils will enter the nursery via the nursery door.
Reception pupils and children in classes pine, mulberry, cherry and cedar can use the first door.
Pupils in years 1&6 can use the second door closest to the Charlton building.
Pupils in rowan, ash, birch, larch, willow, maple, redwood and elm can enter via the double grey doors.

We look forward to welcoming all pupils into school this way from Thursday 5th January.
End of day arrangements will be the same as usual and parents can collect pupils from their classroom doors.
Thank you for your co-operation.
