Nature Area Under Construction
This week the Thames Chase Conservation Volunteers came in to start the new Nature area on the adventure path. We now have the beginnings of a pond, a new bug hotel and an observation trapdoor for mini beasts. Next week they are coming back to add water, plants and snails to the pond.

Willow Tunnel Extension
Last year Mrs Nicholls organised for a willow dome to be created on the field. Once we had found a suitable site, it quickly became one of the children's favourite features. Consequently we made a decision to enlarge it this year with two additional tunnels branching off the dome. Once the willow is established it will be a spectacular addition to our outdoor resources.

Fact Hunters: T-Rex, pools & bears

Incredibly if a T-rex fell over it would be next to impossible for it to get up again it arms were too short and if it fell down it wouldn't be able to catch its self because of its short arms, so it would break it jaw, ribs and legs. T-rex would have died if it fell over!

Did you know that the Polar Bear has many different names? The latin/scientific name is Ursus maritimus, which means 'Sea bear'. It's also called a snow bear, White bear, Lord of the Arctic, Ice bear, Isbjorn, Beliymedved, Nanuk, Old man in the fur cloak, God's dog, and Sailor of the floe!

Amazingly the three pools that make up the London Aquatic centre contain 10 million litres of water!

KS1: Aspen 99.11%
KS2: Rowan & Ash 99.19%
Overall: 96.94%
Aspen continue to excel in the Attendance league. Without a doubt they are one of the best performing Reception classes we have ever had for attendance. Congratulations to Rowan and Ash who were both just one session away from a cupcake party! Over 96% is certainly much more like it for the overall score.

Magic Portals Installed: Where will your imagination take you?
At the start of our adventure pathway we have installed two pairs of star gates. These magical portals will allow you to be transported to a world where leathery snakes twist beneath the crusty surface. A landscape where you will have to balance precariously above boiling lava swamps. You will be able to shelter in deep, dark tunnels when the monstrous beasts swarm out of the desert sands.
No doubt the children will have a thousand and one ways to imagine where the gates could take them... where will you choose to go?
