Sharing Assembly: Maple Class

We are starting the New Year with a Sharing Assembly from Maple class (Year 5). They will be telling us about their learning so far this year at 9.10am tomorrow morning (Wednesday 6th January). We hope to see as many parents, family and friends there as we can.

Well done Ella for producing your own super sized mosaic design during the Christmas holidays!

I wanted to have a go at making my own one because we have been doing them in school. It took me almost three days to complete it... but it was good fun.

Spring Term Spelling Bee

Are you ready for round 2?

If you would like to take part in Broadford’s Spelling Bee and win yourself the title of the 'Best spellers in the school' then here are the next set of words to learn.

Remember, you have to know all the words from the term 1 list as well as the words from the term 2 list!

The next round will take place in classrooms, before the Easter holidays.

Cityscapes Artwork Project

Some of our Year 5 pupils have been involved in a Cityscapes Art Project, led by Mrs Caccavale. The pupils looked at a range of techniques for creating city skylines and then went up to the Southbank by the River Thames to make some sketches. 

'It was really difficult to select buildings to leave out! There were so many to choose from: the Walkie Talkie, the Leadenhall building & St Paul's.'

Polish Language Winner - Emily!

Congratulations to Emily who was the Language of the Half Term winner for Poland. At home she created a great project on the country and has earned herself a basket full of Polish goodies... well done Emily!

New Canopy Completed

We are delighted to announce that the new canopy is completed. The purpose of this installation is to:

- provide additional covered PE space

- create a shaded area for the summer 

- allow extra capacity for outdoor after school clubs

- extend the provision of music outside using the school SONOS system.

This project - and the additional gym equipment - wouldn't have been possible without help from Veolia, who gave us a £22,500 grant towards the works.

We believe that the children of Harold Hill deserve the best facilities and this canopy creates the largest covered outdoor space of any Primary school in Havering!
