The Rainbow Fish - Marcus Pfister

The Rainbow Fish is a children's book drawn and written by Marcus Pfister, Swiss author and illustrator, and translated into English by J. Alison James. The book is best known for its morals about the value of being an individual and for the distinctive shiny foil scales of Rainbow Fish.

Some call this a "cautionary tale about selfishness and vanity" and a reminder that "sharing brings happiness and acceptance” it certainly did for the Rainbow Fish. 

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets - J. K. Rowling

The next exquisite quote comes from an awesome author, J. K. Rowling and the remarkable sequel to the best-selling Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. 

Harry Potter is a wizard. He is in his second year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Little does he know that this year will be just as eventful as the last even getting there is an adventure in itself! The three firm friends, Harry, Ron and Hermione, are soon immersed in the daily round of Potions, Herbology, Charms, Defence Against the Dark Arts, and Quidditch.

Hogwarts Headmaster, Albus Dumbledore, lectures Harry on preserving his individuality. 

Back to School

We hope you have all had a fantastic half term break with your families. Luckily, we have been blessed with wonderful weather over the last week.

Remember though, after all of your half term fun, school starts on Monday 5th June.

We look forward to seeing you all bright and early on Monday morning. Breakfast club opens at 7.45 am and the doors open for everyone else at 8.30 am.

Charlottes's Web - E. B. White

Charlotte’s Web is the first book to be highlighted from our reading area. 

Charlotte's Web is a children's novel by American author E. B. White it was published in October 15, 1952, by Harper & Brothers. The novel tells the story of a pig named Wilbur and his friendship with a barn spider named Charlotte. When Wilbur is in danger of being slaughtered by the farmer, Charlotte writes messages praising Wilbur (such as "Some Pig") in her web in order to persuade the farmer to let him live.

This quote reminds us how important friendship is. In the story Charlotte and Wilbur support each other and we know that this is a tremendous thing!
