Covid- 19 Guidelines
We do still have positive cases reported within our community. Please remain vigilant and do not send your child to school if they are displaying symptoms of Covid-19. We continue to encourage pupils to practice regular and robust hand washing throughout the day and are keeping areas ventilated.
From Monday 17th January the government have changed the rules regarding self isolation. On day 5 and onwards if you or your child have received two negative lateral flow test results 24 hours apart and are no longer displaying symptoms then you can break your isolation periods.
If your child cannot attend school because they are unwell or self-isolating please inform us as soon as you can. You can call the school office on 01708 342880 or email the school office via office@broadford.havering.sch.uk.
Thank you for your constant support during this time.
School Times
A reminder for all parents that children can come into school from 8.30 am each morning and go straight to their classroom. However, they must arrive by 8.55 am as once the gates are shut they will have to enter via the office and they will be marked as late.
We want children to carry out their pupil job number 1 of come to school everyday on time because every minute of learning counts. If pupils are 15 minutes late every day they will lose 10 days of learning over the academic year!
Bikeability
Next week, some of our year 5&6 pupils will be taking part in bikeability. By the end of the week I am sure that we will see some very accomplished and confident riders ready to take on the local bike routes later on in the term. Good luck to all of the cyclists and don't forget your helmets on Monday morning.
February Half Term
Activities
Havering council are offering half term activities, please see the school blog for further information.
Free Schools Meals
Through the Government’s Household Support Fund, the Council have allocated funding to continue the School Holiday Meal Scheme for February half-term. The funding will allow eligible families to receive £15 per child to cover the one week school break.
The scheme provides funds to ensure that eligible families can purchase food over the holiday period to replace the meals a child would have received during a school day.
The application window will open for a short period from Monday 31st January at 9am, closing on Friday 4th February at 5pm.
Families who have previously received payment via the scheme do not need to reapply and will automatically receive the funds into their nominated bank.
Families can make a new claim if;
· they did not apply during any previous application periods, or
· they were not previously eligible, however their circumstances have changed and now are eligible, or
· they would like to claim for additional children who they have claimed for previously, but were not eligible at the time, or
· they would like to claim for additional children who they’ve not applied for in the past.
Families are recommended to check that they meet the eligibility criteria before submitting their application.
Schools and early year’s settings are asked to encourage and support eligible families who have not yet taken advantage of this opportunity previously, and a visual is attached to support you with this.
Details about the scheme will be updated on the Council’s website from Wednesday 26th January, with the application form going live from Monday 31 January at 9 am.
