Weekly Newsletter - Friday16th May, 2025

Dear Parents and Carers,

Part 1 Broadford News

Well done Year 6!

Well done to all of the pupils in year 6. After a gruelling week they made it to the end of their tests. The children tried really hard, were resilient and kept smiling throughout every test during the week and there were some really tricky questions. They were an absolute credit to their parents and Broadford.
Thank you to all of the parents and staff for the support they have given to the children in the lead up to and during this week and making sure they all have been in everyday. We could not be more proud of them all.
We hope they enjoy their day today at The Olympic park celebrating!

Book Fair
Thank you so much to everyone who supported us by purchasing books at our Book Fair last week. Together, your purchases enabled us to buy 56 new books! These wonderful new books will soon be added to our library collection. We have lots of very excited children who cannot wait to start reading them.

Summer
Summer has, eventually arrived and I hope that you are now all enjoying the warmer weather. I would like to ask all parents to ensure that children have sun protection applied before they arrive at school. . It is also recommended that children bring caps/hats into school to wear during outdoor times. We will ensure that pupils have access to plenty of water throughout the day to keep them fully hydrated.

Even though the children may wear summer uniforms they will still be participating in Forest School sessions, even in the summer and will need long trousers to change into or wear long trousers on their Forest School day. This is for their own comfort and safety and allows them to participate fully.
Thank you for your support and co-operation in this matter.

Rainbow Day and Colour Run

Rainbow Non School Uniform Day - Friday 23rd May
On Friday 23rd May  we are holding a non school uniform Rainbow day at Broadford in support of prizes for our summer raffle. Pupils can come to school wearing their own clothes, but they must wear school shoes or trainers. Instead of the normal procedure of bringing in some money, on this occasion we are asking pupils to bring in an item to donate to the summer raffle in exchange for wearing non school uniform.
As this is for prizes we need new items which are of course in the colours of the rainbow. We have given each year group a specific colour for the day. Please see the list below to see which colour your child’s year group is.

EYFS - Orange

Year 1 - Green

Year 2 - Pink

Year 3 - Purple

Year 4 - Red

Year 5 - Yellow

Year 6 - Blue

All you and your child need to do is select a new item in the specific colour for their year group and bring it into school on the non school uniform day on Friday 23rd May.  Then buy raffle tickets when they go on sale after half term to win a summer holiday kids hamper. Please see the information attached to this newsletter.
