Dear Parents and Carers,
Part 1 Broadford News
Amazing Attendance and Perfect Punctuality Week
Pupil job number 1 - Come to school everyday on time
This was the last Amazing Attendance and Perfect Punctuality week this year, thank you to everyone who made an effort to arrive at school everyday on time. We have hit our target of 96% this week which is fantastic. The overall attendance for the week was 96%. Beech class won in KS1 with 100% attendance this week and Maple won in KS2 with 99.7% attendance. Both classes will get a non uniform day on Friday 19th June. We saw those pupils making an extra effort to arrive before 8.45am to ensure that they get to put their names into the lucky buckets and we appreciate your effort. Keep it up!
Congratulations to the lucky bucket winners, we hope you enjoy your prize bags.

Book Fair
Thank you so much to everyone who supported us by purchasing books at our Book Fair last week. Together, your purchases enabled us to buy 37 new books! These wonderful new books will soon be added to our library collection. We have lots of very excited children who cannot wait to start reading them.
Thanks to Miss Flower for organising these events and look out for a book swap just before we break up at the end of the school year. You can grab some books to keep everyone reading over the summer break!
Transition
The preparation for moving on has started! This week the children have been inquisitive and have come up with questions that they want to know the answers to regarding the next year group. Next the pupils will start to answer those questions and elect a spokesperson to give feedback on behalf of the class.
Sports afternoon
Year 2,3&4 - Tuesday 16th June @ 2.00pm
Year 5&6 - WEdnesday 17th June @ 2.00pm
Reception & year 1 - Thursday 18th June @ 2.00pm
Over the next week we are inviting parents to join us for sports events to cheer on the pupils and celebrate their sportsmanship. Please see the arrangements and expectations below.
On their sports day, pupils must wear the school PE kit to school (navy blue shorts, plain white t-shirt with or without the Broadford logo, trainers or plimsolls and a sun hat). Sunscreen must be applied before school and children should bring a water bottle with them.
Please arrive on the allocated date and time and wait at the grey double doors to the left of the main school office.
The doors will be opened at 2.00pm and our year 6 prefects will be waiting to show you to the school field where the pupils will be ready to start.
If you arrive late and the sports event has already started, you may not be able to access the field, please arrive on time.
We would like to remind you that you are welcome to take photos of your own child. Please do not take videos or photographs of the whole class or groups of children and share them on social media. Not every parent gives permission for their children’s photographs to be shared on the internet. Class teachers will be taking photographs and will share these on the schools social media platforms for pupils who we have parental permission to do so.
Please encourage and cheer all pupils during the event.
Once the event has finished all pupils will go back to their classrooms to get ready to go home and you can wait for your child to be dismissed at their classroom door as usual.
We look forward to welcoming many of you at these events which I have no doubt will be wonderful occasions!
Summer Sun
Apparently and fingers crossed next week we will be enjoying sunny and warmer days. I would like to ask all parents to ensure that children have sun protection applied before they arrive at school. It is also recommended that children bring caps/hats into school to wear during outdoor times. We will ensure that pupils have access to plenty of water throughout the day to keep them fully hydrated. Thank you for your support and co-operation in this matter.
Fathers’ Day Sale
To celebrate all of our wonderful Broadford Dads, Step-fathers, Carers, Grandads and Brothers, we will be holding a Fathers’ Day Sale to give children the opportunity to purchase gifts for the father-figures in their lives. The sale will take place during school hours, with children visiting throughout the day in their classes.
There will be a variety of gifts available to buy. All gifts will be priced at £4 each and sold wrapped. Please pay on ParentPay. Please do not click ‘one click payment’, instead, add the item to the basket before checking out using a debit or credit card. The sale will take place on Wednesday 17th, Thursday 18th and Friday 19th June 2026. Money raised from the sale will go towards school resources. Thank you for your continued support.

The Colour Run - Thursday 16th July
We’re thrilled to announce that Broadford Primary will be hosting a Colour Run on Thursday 16th July. This is a fun, vibrant event designed to celebrate our pupils’ attendance and promote fitness, school spirit, and plenty of smiles!
What is a Colour Run?
A Colour Run is a non-competitive event where children can walk, jog, or run through a course while being gently sprinkled with coloured powder at various stations. It’s all about fun and participation—there’s no racing or timing involved.
Is it safe?
Yes! The coloured powder is made from cornstarch and food-grade dyes. It’s non-toxic, biodegradable, and safe for skin and clothing. We’ll also be taking steps to protect pupils’ eyes, and volunteers will apply the powder with care.
How to Prepare:
Wear white: So the colours really pop!
Bring sunglasses: To help protect eyes.
Pack a towel or change of top: For a quick clean-up before heading home.
Permission Required
To ensure that all pupils can take part safely, we require a signed waiver from a parent or guardian. This confirms that you understand the nature of the event and grant permission for your child to participate.
Please complete and return the waiver by Monday, 6th July.
We’re really looking forward to this exciting event and can’t wait to see our pupils enjoying such a colourful day!
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact Mrs. Stanley. We're here to ensure this is a safe and joyful experience for every child.
