What Are You Learning About?

Since the children started their projects, just two weekends ago there has been a transformation in school. The children are coming in to show us what they've made, talk to us about the facts they have discovered and are excited to show their friends their projects.

Jack has been discovering amazing facts about dinosaurs. He has even made a model of a Diplodocus using paper mache:

Samson has been inspired by the tales of Star Wars. Over the weekrnd he has been writing a story about how a brave Jedi warrior defends the honour of a princess. In addition he has also written a Star Wars Rap!

Well done to both of you. Your projects make for very interesting reading!

More Amazing Project Facts

Holly has been finding out about insects. How much do you know about fire ants? Well Holly has discovered that they stand still for eight minutes twice a day. Why do they do that? Apparently it is because they do not have eyelids - like you and me. As a result it is difficult for them to sleep. Standing still like this, enables them to have a rest. Amazingly there are approximately 40 different species of ant. Well done Holly for discovering these amazing facts!

Attendance Update

Key Stage 1: Pine… again!

Key Stage 2: Elm

Overall Score: 96.25%
Good news again with our attendance figures. Elm were the highest and managed 99.2%. Well done you! Unfortunately we have slipped with our overall figure. It still beats the target… but it has dropped by 1.5%.

Sharing Assembly: Cedar October 3rd @ 9.05am

We look forward to welcoming the parents and carers of Cedar on October 3rd at 9.05am in the new hall.

Emma Bowls Through The Night

Congratulations to Emma, who took part in the Romford Bowlathon last weekend. With her Ten Pin Bowling buddies, she hurled balls down the lanes all night long. Incredibly she managed to raise over £100 for charity. You were definitely flexing that resilience muscle of yours Emma to keep going through the wee small hours of the morning. Well done!

Maths Workshop - Tuesday 2nd October 2pm

Next week sees the first of our Maths Workshops this year. Without a doubt you – our parents – are absolutely key if we are to continue raising standards in Maths. We will be offering one every half term (a total of 6). If your child is someone that struggles with Maths, if it is a topic that you would like help with, please come along.

The session starts at 2pm. If you manage to attend all six sessions during the year, there will be a reward of tickets for a family fun day.
