Jacod took part in an arduous 10 mile charity walk at the weekend.
On Saturday scouts and leaders from the Romford district raised more than £5,000 for the hospice in Paul Leeper's memory through a 19-mile hike taking in the clubs around the borough.
Paul Leeper, who was district commissioner for the borough, died at St Francis Hospice, in Havering-atte-Bower.
Jacob started at Gooshays Drive, along a route put together by Alex Peatfield, a cub scout leader from the 2nd Romford group.
He said: “Although Paul didn’t want a scout event or trophy named after him, it seemed fitting to raise some money for the hospice by hiking.
“I decided to make up a route that took in all 15 scout groups and three explorer scout units in the district, as Paul would have supported all of these groups.”
District commissioner Keith Pethers said: “Paul was a very popular and respected leader who is much missed in Romford.
“He would have been very proud to see so many people turn out in his memory, raising money for a great cause, setting themselves a challenge and having fun.”
