Weekly Newsletter - Friday 18th September

Headteacher: Mrs L Nicholls

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you
Thank you to all parents again this week for your support with entry and exit arrangements. Next week all nursery and reception pupils start, these parents and pupils will use the gate at the top of the hill by the office. In the morning please arrive at your allocated time to ease the congestion on Farringdon Avenue. In the afternoon parents can come into the playground to wait for their child’s class if you are early, please stand on the large area without spots and wait for the previous pupils and adults to leave before lining up for your child’s class. This will again leave the pavement free for parents who are leaving the school grounds.
Thank you all so much for everything you are doing for the safe arrival and dismissal of our pupils.

Reception & Nursery
It is really pleasing to see how well our reception children have settled in their first week at Broadford. They have only been attending in small groups and for half a day this week - but so far so good! We hope that all pupils, parents and families feel very welcome here at Broadford.
Our nursery children have been visiting and have had the opportunity to get to know the practitioners in our nursery setting in preparation for their start in the near future. We are looking forward to them attending everyday very soon and we hope that they are looking forward to this as well.

Year 6 Parents
As your child is now in Year 6, now is the time that you will need to make an application for your child to start secondary school in September 2021.
Without an application your child will not be offered a Secondary school place.
Please visit the Havering website www.havering.gov.uk/admissions/secondary where you will find a brochure titled ‘Transferring to a Havering Secondary School in September 2021’ along with a short presentation video which explains the application process and answers some of the most common questions asked by parents. You will also find a link to the application system (eAdmissions).
To ensure that you gain a clear understanding of the process we urge you to view these resources before you make any application.
If after reading the brochure and watching the video you have any further questions, please email the school admissions team via schooladmissions@havering.gov.uk or call the team on 01708 434600.
All applications for Secondary Schools must be submitted online by no later than 31 October 2020.
