We are delighted to be able to implement the Junior Duke Bronze Award. This award aims to introduce young children to the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme. The award scheme has been created for younger children who want to get out of their comfort zones, into their community and to try new experiences.
The Junior Duke has various levels of achievement tailored to different age groups. The Junior Duke Award is split into four levels for ages 8 to 11 and Senior Duke for ages 12 and 13. All levels consist of a mixture of challenges such as: domestic, physical, First Aid, Eco, plus tasks around team building and community engagement.
They gain valuable life skills through various experiences whilst growing in confidence, resilience and independence.
Meet our first Junior Dukes
Today's session was learning about the World we live in and reading Newspaper articles. Children were shown how to extract key information and had a go at presenting their information. The children now have a task to complete at home.
Task:
The task that you need to complete is the 'Interest' task in page 23/24 in your booklet. You then need to complete the self reflection section.
We look forward to you presenting your information on next week's club session.
