Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back, I hope that you all had a wonderful half term break.

World Book Day
We will be celebrating World Book Day on Friday 3rd March.
Children are invited to dress as their favourite book character and there will lots of reading activities during the day for them to participate in.
This year, we are looking to help our planet (and save a little money) by reusing and recycling unwanted fancy dress items. If you have items at home that you no longer have a use for we would gratefully accept them! We kindly ask that all donations are made by Wednesday 1st March 2023.

Shared mailboxes and communication
To ensure that staff are able to dismiss all children safely at the end of the day, we ask that if you would like to speak with your child’s class teacher that you wait till they have finished dismissing their pupils. Alternatively you could send an email to arrange a time to meet with them. They are checked daily and can be used to ask questions, pass on information or check details:

Teachers Strike - Thursday 2nd March
As you are aware the NEU has called a teachers strike on Thursday 2nd March. We will be sending communications regarding the arrangements to all parents as soon as the plans have been finalised.

Havering Catering Services
Week beginning Monday 27th February is week 1 on the Havering catering services menu. All meals are served with unlimited salad and vegetables and cost £2.37.
Please be reminded that your child’s sQuid account should be topped up at all times. We cannot provide dinners for pupils whose account exceeds a debt of £10. If you are experiencing difficulties please contact Mrs West in the school office who will be able to provide you with support and assistance.
I am very pleased to inform you that the school kitchen now offers a halal chicken option. Whenever there is a chicken dish on the lunch menu there will always be a halal option available for those pupils who follow a halal diet.
