Weekly Newsletter - Friday 22nd March, 2024

Headteacher: mrs L Nichollls

Dear Parents and Carers,

Part 1 Broadford News

iRock Concert
Yesterday, our iRocker’s performed a wonderful concert to their parents and the year 3 pupils. The musicians sang in tune perfectly and played their instruments in time brilliantly. The year 3 pupils were a fantastic and supportive audience. Thank you to all of the parents who joined us on this occasion, we hope that you enjoyed it as much as we did.

Communication
As you are aware we have been experiencing technical difficulties with our Facebook page. We do use facebook as one of our forms of communication with parents. We thought that this was a good opportunity to review what we currently have in place and gather your views so that we can move forward in this area.
We would really appreciate it if you could take a few moments to respond to our parents survey regarding communication.
Many thanks.

University of Broadford
We are sadly coming to the end of our Broadford University courses and what a great 10 weeks we have had. I have seen so many happy, smiling children, bursting to tell me all about the wonderful things they have been learning at their University of Broadford sessions. The children have all shown great resilience and reciprocity while working through their courses and we couldn't be prouder of how much they have all achieved.
We would now like to invite you in to celebrate your child’s achievements. The dates and start times for each course are as follows. This year the University of Broadford project included pupils from years 3-6.

Easter
It is only a few weeks till we finish for the Easter break. I know that it feels like we have only returned from the Christmas break! However, to mark the occasion all pupils will be taking part in an easter egg hunt during the week beginning 25th March and we will be hosting Broadford’s Easter parade on Thursday 28th March. We are inviting all pupils to take part in designing, making and wearing with pride an Easter bonnet/hat. It is £1 to enter the competition and this will contribute towards our fundraising total this year.
The bonnet/ hat could be made from card, paper, or use a baseball cap/sunhat/woolly hat as a base. Then allow your child to decide what they would like on their hat, it could be flowers, signs of new life such as Lambs, chicks and chocolate eggs. It can be anything linked to Easter.
We can’t wait to see all of the creations in school on Thursday 28th March. Happy crafting!

Fundraising
Adventure Island Wristband - £15
We have 300 wristbands for Adventure Island priced at £15 each. This is a great day out for the whole family and at a reduced price. If you would like to purchase wristbands they are available from the school office before and after school, cash only please.

Summer Fete

After our successful fete last year, we are thrilled to announce that we will be hosting another fete this year on Saturday 15th June. Save the date!
