The Book Fair is coming!
We are pleased to announce that the Book Fair is coming to Broadford once again! It will be held at the back of the new hall (Charlton) from 3.15pm-3.30pm next week on Tuesday 30th September, Wednesday 1st October, Thursday 2nd October and Friday 3rd October. The price of books start from just £2.99 and there is a special promotion of 3 books for the price of 2 (cheapest free)! If you are planning on making a purchase, we would be grateful for plenty of change if paying by cash or you can make contactless card payments. A percentage of the money raised will go towards new books for our library so please come along and support us by making a purchase.

IMPORTANT & URGENT MESSAGE – Please help us to provide the very best education to your children.

This year all primary aged children are eligible to receive free school meals.

However because all of the children can now get a free school meal, many people do not realise that if they are eligible and register for free school meals our school receives additional funding which enables us to provide essential learning resources, inspiring experiences and great facilities for our children. Please help us by registering now if you are eligible. If you don’t register the funding we could have to support your children will be lost.

Additionally if your child is eligible for free school meals you will also receive:

  • A voucher for each child, once per year, to assist with the cost of school uniform (redeemable via Khalsa Schoolwear)

  • Additional financial support for food during school holidays to help you feed your family (the Havering Cost of Living hub)

  • Access for your children to fun activities clubs during school holiday where they receive a hot, nutritious meal (the Holiday Activities and Food Programme HAF)

  • Assistance with contributions towards school trips and residential visits

Some children / families are put off because they think that Free School Meals status means that they have to eat the school lunches. This is not true!
If you prefer to bring a packed lunch, that is absolutely fine. The school dinners will be there for you should you want them… but they are not compulsory.
If your child is eligible for free school meals and you have not yet registered, please register right NOW –  you will be helping us and we can help you!

Who is eligible? If you are in receipt of any of the following benefits your child may be eligible for free school meals.

* Income support

* Income based Jobseekers Allowance

* Income related Employment Support Allowance

* Guaranteed Element of State Pension Credit

* Child Tax Credit (but not Working Tax Credit) and have an annual income of less than £16,190

* Support under part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999

* Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for four weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit

* Universal Credit (your household income must be less than £7,400 a year after tax and not including any benefits you receive)

If you believe you may be eligible please click on the link below and complete the application form

https://www.havering.gov.uk/info/20006/schools_and_education/431/school_support

We are happy to help you apply. If you are unsure of your eligibility - please complete the form linked here and we can check for you. Please do this today! It is very important for us to have all of our eligible families registered ASAP!
