Weekly Newsletter - Friday 28th November, 2025

Headteacher: Mrs L Nicholls

Dear Parents and Carers,

Part 1 Broadford News

Reception Admissions September 2026

If your child is looking to join our school in Reception 2026, it is vital that your application is completed by 15thJanuary 2026 or it is likely you miss out. Last year we had 290 applications for just 90 places. Even with a 3 form intake, we have more expressions of interest than we have places – YOU MUST APPLY! Attending our Nursery will have no impact on your application. Many parents mistakenly believe that a place in the Nursery = a place in Reception… it doesn’t!

Please see the London Borough of Havering website for further information on how to apply.

Christmas DinnerWeek beginning 16th December, pupils have the opportunity to enjoy Christmas dinner in school. This will be served to different year groups on different days. This is so that pupils can eat their Christmas dinner in the hall and enjoy a festive experience. Due to the fact that the kitchen will be cooking over 300 Christmas dinners daily there will be a different menu for the rest of the school on their non Christmas dinner day please see below.  Christmas dinner will be roast turkey with the trimmings and there is also a vegetarian option which is festive and vegetarian sausage puff.

Wednesday 18th - Early years (Nursery & Reception), years 5&6

Thursday 19th - Years 1,2,3,4

Children can wear Christmas jumpers and headwear on their Christmas dinner day if they would like to.

On your child's non Christmas dinner day the kitchen will be preparing a cold service consisting of tuna, cheese or ham baguettes. These will be ordered via Parentpay as normal. Christmas dinner is free due to the universal free school meals offer excluding Nursery pupils.

We’re kicking off the holiday season once again with a week full of festive fun and performances across the school! From Christmas celebrations in our early years and Y1 classrooms to our dazzling Straw and Order production with Y2 - Y6, every year group will have their moment to shine.
