Part 1 Broadford News

World Book Day and Broadford’s Big Book Giveaway
We had such a fantastic day in school yesterday, celebrating World Book Day and our first Broadford’s Big Book Giveaway! Thank you to each and every one of you for your commitment in supporting your children to look so good and in donating so many books! The children had great fun taking part in lots of reading-related activities throughout the day - take a look at our blog posts here


Amazing Attendance and Perfect Punctuality Week 

Pupil job number 1 - Come to school everyday on time
Another wonderful Amazing Attendance and Perfect Punctuality week at Broadford, thank you to everyone who made an effort to arrive at school everyday on time. The overall attendance for the week was 96%, which means we  have hit the target! Congratulations to you all for doing job number 1. We saw those pupils making an extra effort to arrive before 8.45am to ensure that they get to put their names into the lucky buckets and we appreciate your effort. Keep it up!

Elm class achieved the highest attendance  in KS2 with 99.3% and Apple class achieved the highest attendance in EYFS/KS1 with 98.6%.  Both classes have earned themselves a non school uniform day next Friday 13th March.

Look out for the next Amazing Attendance and Perfect Punctuality Week, which will be after the Easter break. 


After School Clubs
Next week is the last week for after-school clubs. All spring term clubs will finish on Friday, 13th March. There will also be no clubs on Tuesday, 10th, and Wednesday, 11th of March due to Parents' Evening. 


Culture and Religion Day and Careers Chat

World Culture & Religion Day (26th March):

Share your heritage! We need volunteers to lead mini-workshops, share traditional food (with an ingredients list), show cultural clothing, or teach languages. University of Broadford Graduations
We are sadly coming to the end of our Broadford University courses and what a great run we have had. I have seen so many happy, smiling children, bursting to tell me all about the wonderful things they have been learning at their University of Broadford sessions. The children have all shown great resilience and reciprocity while working through their courses and we couldn't be prouder of how much they have all achieved.

Your child will be able to tell you which class they have been studying.
If parents/carers could please wait at the lower gate on Faringdon Avenue, by the waiting area , a member of staff will be there to escort you in at the start time.

Fundraising
Easter Raffle
Tickets for our Easter raffle are on sale via parentpay. Tickets are priced at £3 per strip or 2 strips for £5. There are a variety of eggs in all different sizes and a selection of Easter baskets up for grabs! 

Mothers’ Day Sale
Once again this year we will be selling Mothers’ day gifts. These are priced at £4 per gift and payable via Parentpay . There are a variety of gifts available, key rings, socks, pretty coasters and soft toys. Gifts will start to be sold on Monday 9th - Wednesday 11th March. NEXT WEEK.


Adventure Island Wristband - £18
We have 300 wristbands for Adventure Island priced at £18 each. This is a great day out for the whole family and at a reduced price. If you would like to purchase wristbands please pay via Parentpay and then pick up the wrist bands from the school office.

Job 3 - Be kind and polite to everyone you meet

Parent responsibility - Model politeness and kindness to everyone you meet.

Housepoints

Pupils are awarded housepoint for using kind words and actions and demonstrating good manners. These go towards their house teams weekly total but they are in competition with their  teachers (Dudley - orange house). If pupils do not demonstrate these behaviours then the teachers' house teams are awarded the house points instead.
