I would like to extend a very big Broadford thank you to the Friends of Broadford for their inaugural fete. The event was very well attended and a substantial amount of money – over £1,000 – was raised. These monies are fantastic as it enables the Friends of Broadford to support projects in school that otherwise could not be achieved. To have the Mayor attend as well to open the festivities – as well as throw a few sponges at me – was a great honour. There was a really good community feel to the event. I know that the team are already looking ahead to 2014 to make the next event even bigger and better.
