Fact Hunters: Eruptions & Spiders

Did you know that female wolf spiders lay several dozen or more eggs and wrap them in silk, creating an egg sac. Female wolf spiders carry their egg sacs attached to her spinnerets.

Did you know that it's often not the lava that kills you in an eruption? Fresh volcanic ash, made of pulverized rock, can be harsh, acidic, gritty, glassy and smelly. The ash can cause damage to the lungs of older people, babies and people with respiratory problems.
