'Today, the Havering JTAs met at Hilldene Primary School to participate in the annual conference. The theme was 'Be Bright, Be Seen' and the aim was to share ideas as to how we can spread the word about staying safe in the dark!
There were twice as any deaths in the winter months as there were in the summer months. This is due to the fact that many cyclists and pedestrians were not visible enough on the roads, meaning that drivers were not able to see them clearly enough. Don't forget to ensure that your pets are bright when they are out and about so that they can be seen on the roads too!
We are going to hold an assembly to share with the children all the ways they can stay safe in the dark. We are also thinking of running a 'Bling my Bag' safety workshop in the playground, where we can show children how to make their bags look reflective as well as cool!
