Dear Parents and Carers,
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas & Happy New Year
Tough times never last, but tough people do.
Robert H Schuller
As we close the year 2020, I am sure that we all share a range of contradictory feelings. Sadness for those who have lost their health and livelihoods to this terrible virus. Pride in how we have all functioned together as a school community and supported one another throughout. We can also feel positivity for the future – not only to deliver the best education possible in the safest way possible, but also to ensure that Broadford Primary comes back even stronger than ever in January, with a re-doubled sense of the vital purpose of education and a commitment to achieving our individual academic and personal potential.
I would like to pay tribute to the way that pupils, parents and staff have coped with the current situation. It is impossible to have imagined us working together in such circumstances – and I am enormously grateful for your understanding, positivity and generosity. We have all needed to make significant compromises in terms of the way in which we have functioned and lived our lives. The messages of support and positive feedback that you have given to us have been appreciated more than we can say.
Thank you as well for all of the cards and gifts that have been given to staff. On behalf of them I would like to thank you for your kindness and generosity. I would like to wish you and your families all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
IMPORTANT
The school is responsible for advising parents and staff of any new positive coronavirus test results (for pupils) up to and including 23rd December. We sincerely hope this won’t be necessary but would urge parents to please advise school via the following e-mail of any positive cases detected up to this date please.
office@broadford.havering.sch.uk
After this date you have to use the NHS contact tracing system if there was a need to report a positive case of Covid-19.
Reception Admissions September 2021
On behalf of Havering Council we would like to remind all parents and carers in the borough to apply now for their child’s 2021 Reception school place. If your child is born between 01 September 2016 and 31 August 2017, you must apply online for their Reception school place at www.havering.gov.uk/admissions. Deadline for applications is 15th January 2021.
If your child currently attends Nursery this does not mean that you will automatically get a reception place you must apply.
First Day of 2021
We are looking forward to seeing all children back at school in January 2021. School opens again on Monday 4th January for all pupils. Breakfast Club at 7.45am – with the gates opening from 8.30am and the usual staggered times in place. .
Mrs Smith is Retiring!
Today is a very sad day as we are saying farewell to Mrs Smith, Headteacher at Mead Primary School. Mrs Smith has given 17 years service to Mead and The Learning Federation, enhancing the lives of 100’s of pupils and families during her time. I am sure that you will join us in wishing her well for a happy and healthy retirement.
