Community Christmas Cheer!

Last week, the pupils of Broadford took part in a local intergenerational project to share Christmas well wishes to the local community.

Pupils across the whole school were tasked with making a Christmas card for a 'Grand-Pal' who is a senior member of the community. On their card, they were required to think of a question they would like to ask their Grand-Pal. The pupils really thought about what they would like to ask and as always, impressed us with their insightfulness.

Examples of questions asked were:

What was your happiest Christmas memory ever?

What was it like in the years after the war? It is really different to now?

What is your favourite thing about Christmas?

What is your favourite Christmas song and why?

The cards have now been sent to the organisers at Liberty Romford who will quarantine the cards before distributing them. They will then be writing back to the children and answering their question. Children are very excited to receive the responses!

We really hope that the cards will bring a much needed smile and Christmas cheer to our most vulnerable members of the community during such isolating times.
