Return to School - Morning Routine

Dear Parents and Carers,

The countdown to Monday 8th March is on and we hope that your children are looking forward to returning to school as much as we are looking forward to seeing them all. We are still living in very testing and challenging times and we hope that these temporary arrangements will be short lived. I wanted to take this opportunity to confirm plans for the morning routine.

Breakfast Club
I am pleased to inform you that we will continue to provide a breakfast provision from 8th March. The same arrangements and measure for Covid-19 will be in place.

Office staff have been confirming places with parents this week. If you would like to book a place at the breakfast club please contact the school office and they will be able to assist you.

  • Breakfast club will still operate within the school hall and pupils will be organised in year group tables (bubbles) and will need to stay within these groups to eat their breakfast and for their activities. There will be a staff member per bubble who will support the pupils during this time.
  • Parents who require breakfast club due to working commitments will be prioritised all other places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
  • If your child misses two sessions you will forfeit the place and it will be offered to the next person on the waiting list.
  • The Breakfast Club will open term time only for children in Reception – Year 6. If you have a Nursery child and are interested in our Nursery Breakfast Club then please speak to a member of Nursery staff.

Pupils who are not attending Breakfast Club

Nursery and Reception Pupils

Nursery - usual timings; please see communication from Nursery staff.

Reception - the door will be open and pupils can start to make their way to the classrooms from 8.30 am.

Only parents and pupils in Nursery and Reception will be able to use the gates by the school office as they will enter the school building via the nursery doors and the door by the reception slope.

Pupils in Years 1-6

All pupils must enter the school site via either of the two gate towards the bottom of the hill on Farringdon Avenue. Children will make their way into the playground and straight to their classrooms where their teachers will be there to meet and greet them them and get started with their learning for the day. During this time we ask parents to drop pupils at the gate to minimise the amount of people on the school site. All pupils will enter their classrooms via the outside doors.

8.30 am - Years 4 & 6

8.35 am - Years 1 & 2

8.40 am - Years 3 & 5

Can we ask that only 1 parent brings your child/children to school and please ensure that you drop off at the correct time to ensure that there are a minimum number of people at the gate any one time. The gate will close at 8.50 am and any late pupils will not be able to be admitted after this time to ensure that pupils do not cross over bubbles. The main school office will be used for emergencies only.

We are looking forward to welcoming you all back to school bright and early on Monday morning.
