Weekly Newsletter - Friday 10th December

Headteacher: Mrs L Nicholls

Dear Parents and Carers,

Christmas Concerts

A big thank you to all parents / carers who came along to support the children’s Christmas concerts this week. I am sure you will agree with me that all of the children sang brilliantly, danced beautifully and read and acted like true professionals. We hope that you enjoyed watching the concerts as much as we did. Well done to all pupils and staff involved.

Covid

We wrote to all parents on Monday to inform you that we have had a small rise in positive Covid-19 cases in school. We are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England. This letter is to inform you of the current situation and provide advice on how to support your child. The school remains open and providing your child remains well and is not displaying symptoms of Covid-19 they can continue to attend school as normal. We will keep this under review.

What to do if your child develops symptoms of COVID 19
If your child develops symptoms of COVID-19, they should remain at home and you should arrange a PCR test. Anyone with symptoms will be eligible for testing and this can be arranged via https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test

Symptoms of COVID 19

The most common symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are recent onset of:

• new continuous cough and/or

• high temperature

• a loss of, or change in, normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia)

For most people, coronavirus (COVID-19) will be a mild illness.

If your child does develop symptoms, you can seek advice from NHS 111 at https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/symptoms/

How to stop the spread of COVID-19

There are things you can do to help reduce the risk of you and anyone you live with getting ill with COVID-19

Do

• wash your hands with soap and water often – do this for at least 20 seconds

• use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are not available

• wash your hands as soon as you get home

• cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze

• put used tissues in the bin immediately and wash your hands afterwards

In school we will continue with our measures already in place and will continue to monitor closely with public health.

Poppy Appeal

Poppy sales for remembrance day raised £629.72. Thank you as always for your support. Every poppy sold makes a difference to the lives of our armed forces communities.
