Dear Parents and Carers,
End of Key Stage Statutory Assessments
Well done to all of the pupils in year 6 who completed their end of year 6 assessments this week. We are very proud of you as you all demonstrated huge amounts of commitment and tried your very best throughout the whole week, all with an amazingly positive attitude. Thank you to the year 6 team who have been relentless in preparing the pupils. I know they have some exciting projects for the rest of the term which I am certain the pupils are going to love! Have a great day at the Olympic park, you all deserve it!
Cycle Awareness Day
Next week, on Wednesday 18th and Thursday 19th, the year 1 & 2 children will be participating in a cycling awareness day where they will have the opportunity to take part in fun cycling and road safety activities. The children can bring into school their own bikes, scooters and helmets. Please make sure that all of the equipment is clearly named. You can find all of the information here.
Jubilee Celebrations
Week beginning 23rd May is Jubilee Celebration week in school. Each year group will be learning about a decade during the Queen’s reign. There will be a red, white and blue dress up day on Thursday 26th May along with a special Jubilee menu and many other exciting activities throughout the week.
Volunteers
We are absolutely thrilled to report some wonderful news regarding some of our volunteers in school. After volunteering in school since September 2021, one of our volunteers has secured an apprenticeship as a nursery practitioner and another has secured full time employment. We would like to thank them both as they have contributed so many hours to the school and have made a positive impact on the pupils and year group which they have supported. It's great to know that through volunteering at Broadford our volunteers are then going on to either employment or further education! If you are interested in volunteering opportunities in school please email volunteer@broadford.havering.sch.uk.
Summer Sun
We are very lucky to be experiencing some warmer weather again. I would like to ask all parents to ensure that children have sun protection applied before they arrive at school. It is also recommended that children bring caps/hats into school to wear during outdoor times. We will ensure that pupils have access to plenty of water throughout the day to keep them fully hydrated. Thank you for your support and co-operation in this matter.
Summer Term Dates
