After a long-anticipated wait, the Young Voices choir representatives from Broadford finally got their time to shine alongside THOUSANDS of other students as they performed in the O2 Arena on Wednesday night! Their repetoire ranged from the Lion King soundtrack to the Beatles, powerful ballads to raving to Fatboy Slim and jam packed with exciting dance choreography and beaming smiles.
Young Voices is the world’s largest children’s choir and this year celebrated 25 years of this amazing collaboration. The spectacular events have featured an impressive array of top talent including Katherine Jenkins, Alexandra Burke and Beverley Knight, alongside dance group Urban Strides and beatboxing experts; the Beatbox Collective. Concerts take place across London, Manchester, Birmingham and Sheffield, giving the opportunity to over 110,000 children all over the UK to participate and enjoy the experience of singing.
Our show-stopping thirty children made their way to the O2 early in the day, leaving plenty of time for lunch, dinner and a big afternoon full of rehearsals. Luckily for us, Broadford were in the front row, just beside the stage and had opportunities to watch the wonderful supporting performers, show off their enthusiasm and Broadford spirit and excitingly, be interviewed by concert officials at the end of the show.
A huge thank you to all parents who helped make this brilliant day and night possible for their little rockstars and an even bigger well done to everyone for their great performances and their resilient positive attitudes - even though it was past everyone's bed time!
