Weekly Newsletter - Friday 4th November, 2022

Headteacher: Mrs L Nicholls

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope that you all enjoyed the half term break with friends and family. We are all looking forward to a busy and fun packed half term.

Winter in Coming!

As we return from the half term break, the air is crisper and the temperature is dropping. Please remember that children will go outside everyday and will require coats, hats, scarves, gloves and appropriate footwear, which should all be named.
We would also encourage pupils to bring into school a pair of indoor shoes or slippers that they can change into once inside. If shoes get wet and muddy they will then have a pair of clean and warm shoes and will be more comfortable. This will also help us to keep the classrooms cleaner for children to learn in.
Many thanks for your co-operation with this.

School Nurse
Our school nurse will be available from 8.30 am on Tuesday 8th November. If you have any questions or need any support then come into the school office to speak with her.

We are very excited to hold another Rock Star Times Tables day for the beginning of England Rocks! Maths week.

The times tables competition will be held between Monday 14th November - Wednesday 16th November. There will  be certificates for the 3 most valuable players in each year group at the end of the competition. So it’s time to rock out with your times tables!

On Monday 14th November, children and teachers can come to school dressed as rock stars to hype up the competition.
We look forward to seeing all the rock gods and air guitarists in their best costumes to kick start the competition.

Poppy Appeal
We are pleased to announce that the yearly poppy appeal boxes have arrived in school and will be coming around to classes  until Remembrance weekend.
Please send donations in with the children in the mornings if you wish for them to purchase Remembrance merchandise. Donations for items are between 50p and £2.00.
Boxes will be coming around with the prefects during morning work time 8:30-9:00 am so please ensure your children are in school on time so that they don't miss out.

S.M.I.L.E Christmas Appeal

Many children will not receive anything from Father Christmas this year as they are living below the breadline. Therefore S.M.I.L.E are providing shoe boxes full of treats and delivering them to families who need the most support. Every year the numbers of families in need grow, and as a result of this they are always in need of donations from our community to fulfil this Christmas miracle.

Creating your Christmas box ...

1 - Choose an age and gender

2 - Find a suitable showbox

3 - Wrap with Christmas paper (please wrap lid separately so that the box can be opened easily

4 - Shop for presents to fill your box

5 - Bring your box into school no later than Friday 18th November

All gifts must be new in sealed packages to comply with Covid-19 policies.

Please select an age range for your box from the groups below

  • Babies
