Weekly Newsletter - Tuesday 19th December

Headteacher: Mrs L Nicholls

Dear Parents and Carers,

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

As we approach the end of the autumn term, I would like to take a moment to reflect on the incredible achievements and successes we have experienced here at Broadford Primary School. I hope that you have all had the opportunity to read our positive report from Ofsted confirming us as a school that “... is a happy, welcoming and respectful school. School leaders are ambitious for all pupils to achieve well.” This is the second consecutive inspection in which we have been rated as "GOOD," a testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff, students, and parents.

Throughout the term, our pupils have participated in a wide range of sporting events, trips, and experiences that have enriched their learning and personal development. From inter-school competitions to educational visits, our pupils have showcased their talents, skills, and knowledge, and have made us all immensely proud.

While we celebrate our achievements within the school, we must also acknowledge the challenging world events that continue to unfold around us. It is my hope that amidst these uncertain times, we can all come together as a community and support one another. As we approach the festive season, I wish you all a very peaceful break with families and friends.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership. On behalf of the entire staff at Broadford Primary School, I would like to thank you for your generous cards and gifts and wish you a very Merry Christmas.

Goodbye!

During the autumn term we have said goodbye to a number of staff who have left our Broadford family and moved onto new pastures. I would like to take this opportunity to thank them all for their commitment and dedication to our school. Please join me in wishing them all the best of luck for the future.
Miss Mcmorrin, Mrs Davey, Miss Edwards, Mrs MacFarlane, Mr Joseph and Mrs Said.
Miss Davies will start her maternity leave at the beginning of the new year. We look forward to hearing her happy news once her bundle of joy arrives.

Spring Term After School Clubs
Please reply by Midnight on Friday 5th January.
There are limited spaces in each club and these will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
You may select one 1st choice and one 2nd choice of club.
Children can attend a maximum of 2 clubs each - This is in addition to any clubs to which individual children are invited to attend.
There are no clubs for Reception children in the Spring Term.
Please ensure that the club your child most wants to attend is put as your 1st choice.  Please make just one application per child.  If you make a duplicate application, then any previous applications will be deleted.
Applications will close at midnight on Friday 5th January.
Places in a club will only be given if you apply via this form - The school office can no longer issue places on a club.
When places have been allocated, clubs that are full will be removed from the list of choices.  Late applications, after the closing date, will only be considered if there are still spaces in a club.
Please complete a separate form for each child you have within school.

Attendance News
I am delighted to announce the winners of the attendance league for the Autumn term - Mulberry (EYFS & KS1) and Cedar (KS2) classes! They earned 181 and 158 points respectively. Both classes  enjoyed their reward of a film afternoon last Friday. Congratulations to all of the pupils in these classes who have remembered their number one job of coming to school every day on time. The overall attendance for this term is 94%. We have the Spring term to make 2% improvement to reach our  target of 96%.

Housepoint Reward

I am thrilled to say that Yellow House (Dulverton) are the autumn term winners! They have earned the most housepoints during this term and enjoyed their film afternoon. Well done to all of the members of Dulverton yellow house for displaying pupil job number 3 - being kind and polite to everyone that they meet.
