Weekly Newsletter - Friday 27th February, 2026

Headteacher: Mrs L Nicholls

Dear Parents and Carers,

Part 1 Broadford News
Welcome Back!
Welcome back! We hope you all enjoyed a restful and enjoyable half-term break.
Although this is a shorter half term, we know it will be just as busy and exciting as ever. There are plenty of wonderful events to look forward to in the weeks ahead. We’ll be celebrating World Book Day, watching our pupils graduate from the University of Broadford, and hosting our much-loved annual Easter Parade before we break up for the Easter holidays. We are also delighted to be holding our very first Cultural Day — a fantastic new event for our school community to enjoy together.
It’s set to be another fun-filled and memorable half term!

Amazing Attendance and Perfect Punctuality Week - Monday 2nd March - Friday 6th March
Next week we have our second ‘Amazing Attendance and Perfect Punctuality Week' of 2026, on Monday 3rd March.
This special initiative is designed to encourage everyone to embrace the importance of being on time, remembering our 'Pupil Job 1', while having a bit of fun along the way.
Pupil Job 1 - Come to school every day on time
Parent responsibility - Ensure that your child arrives for school on time, every day and ready to learn.
Weekly Attendance Target 96%
Here’s how it works:
📅Daily Prize Draw
Each day of the week, if you arrive at school on time, your name will be entered into a prize draw for a chance to win a delightful bag of treats! The more days you arrive on time, the more chances you have to win! It’s a simple and fun way to motivate everyone to prioritise punctuality.
🍽️Early Bird Breakfast Treat on Friday:
As an extra incentive, we’ll be hosting a ‘special early bird breakfast treat’ this Friday for all children who arrive by 8:45 AM. Collect your treat from outside the main office before you head off to your classroom. It’s our way of saying thank you for your commitment to being on time and starting the day off right!
🎉Whole Class Treat:
We want to elevate the excitement even further! Any class that achieves amazing attendance and/or perfect punctuality for the entire week will receive a special whole-class treat. So, encourage one another and show your commitment to being present and punctual!
Let’s make a fantastic start to the school day by showing our commitment to attendance and punctuality. Remember, arriving on time not only helps you settle in for a successful day of learning, it also sets a great example for your peers.
We are excited to see all of you bright and early, ready to learn and participate. Let’s set a positive tone for the rest of the year and build the habits that will lead us to success!
Best of luck to all, and let the attendance challenge begin!

World Book Day and Broadford’s Big Book Giveaway - Thursday 5th March
A reminder that we will be celebrating World Book Day next week on Thursday 5th March. Children are invited to come into school on World Book Day in either their Favourite Character Costume or their Snuggly Pyjamas.
Please remember that, as the weather can be unpredictable at this time of year, it is really important that children are dressed appropriately and have suitable footwear (such as long sleeves, trousers and outdoor shoes) to be able to enjoy any outdoor activities on the day.
As part of the day, we will be hosting Broadford’s Big Book Giveaway after school in the new hall, where you can choose a free book to enjoy at home. If you have any donations of children’s books towards the event, please give them to the school library or your child’s class teacher.

Spring Term Parent Evening Consultations - Tuesday 10th & Wednesday 11th March
We are looking forward to welcoming all parents on Tuesday 10th & Wednesday 11th March for parent consultation meetings for children in reception to year 6. You will have the opportunity to meet your child’s class teacher and discuss their learning at this midpoint of the year. The teachers will inform you and explain the progress that your child is making towards the end of year expectations for their age.

Our year 6 prefects will also be on hand to show you to the classrooms and ask you to respond to our survey around personal development.
Please complete the attached google form by the end of the school day on Tuesday 3rd March. You will receive your appointment by Friday 6th March.
Parents of pupils in Alder, Aspen, Beech and Rowan class will be contacted separately regarding alternative arrangements.
