Medical appointments
A reminder for all parents that pupils are not permitted to leave the school site during the school day unless the school has contacted parents/carers to confirm that a child is unwell, or the pupil has a pre-arranged appointment. All appointments must be confirmed in advance, and parents/carers are required to provide appropriate evidence such as an appointment letter. We do not want our pupils to miss out on any learning time and we really want them to achieve job number 1 of coming to school every day on time.
Nuts - A Reminder
We are a nut free school. We have an increasing number of children and staff in school who suffer from nut allergies that can develop a severe, potentially life-threatening allergic reaction. If someone has a nut allergy it is not just eating nuts that can cause a severe reaction, just being touched on the skin or smelling the breath of someone who has had nuts or a product containing nuts can trigger anaphylactic shock (which can cause breathing and swallowing difficulties). Therefore, we cannot have nuts in school in any form. So please can we ask that you have no nut products in the lunch boxes or brought into the school as treats or snacks. Children will not be allowed to eat any products containing nuts and will be given an alternative lunch or snack. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to speak to a member of staff.
Healthy Schools Award
We are delighted to announce that we have received our Bronze Healthy Schools Award. This achievement recognises our commitment to the health and well-being of our pupils, from promoting nutritious eating habits to supporting physical activity and emotional wellness. A huge thank you to our students and staff, especially Mr Kearns who has led on this project and who have worked hard to make our school a healthier, happier place to learn. We’re already looking forward to going for Silver!
