Fact Hunters: Mona Lisa, salt & lyrics

This week we have had a tremendous number of interesting facts being shared by the children. Congratulations to the following children who have amazed us with their ability to hunt out interesting snippets of information:

Tommy Lee Floyd
After the World Cup was stolen in 1966, the trophy was found just seven days later wrapped in newspaper at the bottom of a suburban garden hedge by Pickles the dog while taking a walk with his owner David Corbett.

Georgia Chilvers
Salt is a commonly occurring mineral, the technical name of which is Sodium Chloride. The Sodium element is particularly important as it's a chemical that helps control the balance of water in the body and keeps our nerves and muscles working.

Nathan Owsley
Incredibly there are 3 versions of the Mona Lisa – one has clutching arms of chair rather than in front of her. It is believed to have been painted between 1503 and 1506, although Leonardo may have continued working on it as late as 1517.

Saffron Lubin
Did you know that the original happy birthday lyrics were…
Good morning to you,
Good morning to you,
Good morning, dear children.
Good morning to all.

Jaseem Miah
Did you know that the name Brontosaurus, comes from the Greek words bronto meaning "thunder", and sauros meaning "lizard".
