Gill Gordon opened the meeting by welcoming parents and reminding them that they could always email in questions if:
- They thought of something after the meeting
- They wanted to ask but were unable to attend
- They didn’t want to ask the question themselves in front of the group
Attendance figures overall are good – over 95% for the year
Number of minutes lost through late marks is declining
Expansion & build update
Planning permission was applied for on Feb 7th
Quotes submitted for refurbishing the old kitchen - £60k expected cost which is likely to be met by LA
Meeting this week to discuss plans for asbestos removal in old kitchen area
Area would be used as a classroom in the first instance and then will become a staff room

Mr Drakes explained the upcoming project to construct a pathway around the field for the children to use: 200m long x 2.5m wide; three tunnels; sand pit; seating area; staged area; planting beds and outdoor classroom
Over the next 18months the plan is for the school to expand the number of mobile ICT devices so that there is a 1:1 ratio in KS2.
Forthcoming visits and enrichment
Serious Fun on Saturdays project has been running for the last five weeks. This is hosted by Bancrofts school in Woodford and offers the children a range of opportunities: Classics, chemistry, drama, biology and Modern Languages

A parent asked about the future for the old building
- Likely to be mothballed from Sept 2014
- Old hall to be retained and possibly refurbished
- Council to review pupil numbers and decide on need for further expansion
