Fact Hunters: Spiders, Giraffes and Turtles

Did you know that a giraffe has an 18 inch (45 cm) tongue and a modified atlas-axis joint that lets the head extend vertically further increase the height advantage. Giraffe can browse the crowns of small trees;

Have you ever heard of a Sea Spider? They are sea-dwelling animals that look like a spider. There are about 500 species. Found in all oceans they are usually small and have a leg span of about 1 inch (2.5 cm), while those living at great depths, up to 24 inches (60 cm).

Did you know that Bobby Charlton was dramatically rescued from the Munich air crash? United goalkeeper Harry Gregg (who had somehow got through a hole in the plane unscathed and begun a one-man rescue mission) found him, and dragged him away from the plane in constant fear that it would explode.
