Headteacher: Mrs L Nicholls

Dear Parents and Carers,

Dairy Dates - Monday 17th - Friday 21st June
We start the week with a group of children visiting Drapers’ Academy to represent us at the Primary sports day. Good luck to all pupils participating in the day. In school we have a cycle confident event for some of our newer riders to work towards their level 1 award. Birch class are going swimming in the afternoon and year 5 boys are continuing their stepping up program.
The cycling course continues on Tuesday. Music lesson continue in the afternoon. We invite all parents and carers of year 1 pupils into school at 2.40 for their stay and learn session. In the afternoon the school choir will be visiting the Queen’s Theatre to rehearse for their concert in the evening.
The cyclist continue their bikeability course on Wednesday. Year 3 are going to the V&A museum for the day and in school Miss Daly is hosting the final spelling bee to select the team for the event at Drapers’ Academy in a few weeks. In the afternoon, M&M productions are returning with their summer production and year 1 spinebreakers are visiting Hilldene library. At 5.30 Rev Rich is in hosting the summer Dad’s and children summer event.
On Thursday morning we invite the parents and carers of year 4 children into school for their stay and learn session at 9.00. Bikeability and music lessons continue. Year 6 are visiting MOD pizza in Romford and year 2 are visiting the cinema.
Friday is the last day of the bikeability course. EYFS (nursery and reception) pupils are dressing up for their Pirate day, we can’t wait to see them all in their fabulous costumes.

LFPA
Due to circumstances beyond our control we have changed the date of the LFPA summer fete. It will now be held on Friday 5th July from 2.00-5.00pm at Broadford Primary School. Parents wishing to attend the fete will be able to collect their children from school at 2.00pm. I will be sending out a letter nearer the time to ascertain which children will need to be dismissed earlier but please be advised pupils leaving early MUST be collected by their parent/carer so that they can go and enjoy all the fun at the fair. If you are unable to collect your child at 2.00 pm, children will stay in school until 3.00pm. They will be dismissed at the normal time and there will be plenty of time left to go and enjoy the fete, which will finish at 5.00pm.
If you would like to or you know anyone who is interested in running a stall at the fete please contact Jenny or Lisa via the contact details below.

Summer Sun
After the rainfall this week, I am hoping that we will start to experience some warmer weather soon. I would like to ask all parents to ensure that children have sun protection applied before they arrive at school. . It is also recommended that children bring caps/hats into school to wear during outdoor times. We will ensure that pupils have access to plenty of water throughout the day to keep them fully hydrated. Thank you for your support and co-operation in this matter.

Week beginning Monday 17th June  is week 1 on the Havering catering services menu. All meals are served with unlimited salad and vegetables and cost £2.20.
