OPAL - Outdoor Play and Learning

OPAL - Outdoor Play and Learning

Playing outdoors in rich play environments is one of the best ways for children to develop social skills, build resilience, make more friends, be more creative and care more about the planet. Right now, this is more important than ever.

The children are all extremely excited about our new playground project. As mentioned in the OPAL launch letter sent out at the launch of the programme, we will be continuing collecting resources for children to play with. The items we are looking for will enable us to enjoy a wider range of play experiences during playtime (see below for some examples):The children have expressed how much they would like to have mud kitchens in Years 3,4, 5 and 6 and have been sharing the play spaces with our younger children.

For us to grow our mud kitchens, we are looking for the following donations:

Pallets

crates

cable drums

metal/plastic pots and pans

range of plastic utensils.

To ensure children can be kept as clean as possible, we are also looking for donations of Wellington Boots size 5 and 6 and any waterproofs aged 10+

Please put any donations on the grassed areas by the gate entrances. Mrs Stanley will then collect daily. We are also able to collect larger items.

Also, do let us know if you are creative and have any fabulous ideas or want to get involved!

Thank you for your continued support.
