It is hard to believe we have come to the end of the second week of this half term already. Quick as a flash it will be December! Next week, we will be sharing with you our December plans and dates for our celebrations at the time of year. I don’t want to say the word just yet!
Wednesday 17th November - 9.15 am
Miss Chapel will be showing prospective parents around the school on Wednesday 17th November. If you know of anyone who would like to tour the school in the hopes of their children attending, please ask them to book a place via the school office.
School Nurse Drop In Session - Thursday 18th November
On Thursday 18th November Cathy Forrester, our school nurse, will be running her drop in session. If you have a question or concern and would like to talk this through with Cathy, she will be available at the school office from 8.30 am for any parent or carer who wishes to drop in.
Vue Cinema Trip - Thursday 18th November
We are delighted to inform you that a trip has been booked for all our Key Stage 2 children, pupils in years 3,4,5 & 6. In celebration of the Into Film Festival, the children will be attending a viewing of ‘Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway' at Cineworld in Ilford. All of Key Stage 2 will be in attendance and we will have the screen completely to ourselves.
On Thursday 18th November, all children should be in school by 8.30am as we will be leaving promptly at 8:45am. We will be travelling by bus and train and expect to arrive back at school for 1:00pm.
The children will eat lunch at school once we have returned from the cinema. In case we are back late that day, all children will eat a packed lunch (provided by school or home).
We are extremely fortunate to not only have received these tickets free of charge in celebration of the annual Into Film Festival, but to also have the whole screen to ourselves. We cannot wait to enjoy this fun day out with all the children in Key Stage 2!
If you have not yet completed the permission form please do so here, asap. Many thanks.
Charity Dates
We are committed to teaching our pupils that they have a social responsibility to help others who are not as fortunate as themselves. We will be raising money for Children In Need and Save the Children on the following dates.
Friday 19th November - Children In Need. Pupils can come to school on this day wearing something spotty, yellow or wearing bear ears/accessories. We suggest a voluntary contribution of £1 per family.
Friday 10th December - Christmas Jumper Day. Pupils can wear their favourite Christmas jumpers and festive headwear for a suggested donation of £1 per family.
We will send further information nearer to the above dates.
Children In Need - Friday 19th November
Children can come to school wearing something yellow, spotty clothes or if they have bear areas/accessories or children in need merchandise. Please ensure that pupils still have appropriate footwear and outdoor coats to wear. We are asking for a voluntary contribution of £1 per family to go towards the charities that are supported through this event.
Throughout the morning pupils will be participating in the Joe Wicks’ ultimate feel good Friday workout!
We will be holding two competitions in school during the day:
Competition 1:
Design a new Pudsey Bear as a class. These will be displayed on the classroom doors.
Competition2:
Design a Pudsey Bear Tote Bag. The children will have the opportunity to create their own design on an A4 piece paper. The winning designs will be scanned and heat pressed onto a Tote bag for the winner to keep!
I am sure the children will have a fabulous day in school, look out for updates on our school blog, facebook page and Instagram account.
S.M.I.L.E Christmas Appeal
