Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope that you all enjoyed the half term break with friends and family. We are all looking forward to a busy and fun packed half term.
The last few weeks we have seen some tragic and fatal incidents that have and will continue to have a devastating effect on members of our community. Let’s remember to be kind to each other and continue to teach our children that the most important thing in life is to be kind.
Kindness is the most powerful, least costly, and most underrated agent of human change.

Parliament Week
Before half term, the school council representatives made alliances, designed their own manifestos and throughout this week have been campaigning for votes. Today we held an election and I am very pleased to report that the Panda Party received the most votes. Congratulations to all of the mini MP’s involved. They all did a brilliant job and acted with integrity and decorum throughout the proceedings.
The candidates had the opportunity to meet with Julia Lopez, Member of Parliament for Hornchurch and Upminster and discuss the highs and lows of campaigning and as well as finding out more about what happens inside the Houses of Parliament. Head over to our instagram stories to watch the election unfold from there!
Winter in Coming!
As we return from the half term break, the air is crisper and the temperature is dropping. Please remember that children will go outside everyday and will require coats, hats, scarves, gloves and appropriate footwear. Thank you for your continued support in this matter.
Poppy Appeal
We are pleased to announce that the yearly poppy appeal boxes have arrived in school and will be coming around to classes as of tomorrow until Remembrance weekend.
Please send donations in with the children in the mornings if you wish for them to purchase Remembrance merchandise. Donations for items are between 50p and £1.50.
Boxes will be coming around with the prefects during morning work time 8:30-9:00am so please ensure your children are in school on time so that they don't miss out.
S.M.I.L.E Christmas Appeal
Many children will not receive anything from Father Christmas this year as they are living below the breadline. Therefore S.M.I.L.E are providing shoe boxes full of treats and delivering them to families who need the most support. Every year the numbers of families in need grow, and as a result of this they are always in need of donations from our community to fulfill this Christmas miracle.

Friday 19th November - Children In Need. Pupils can come to school on this day wearing something spotty, yellow or wearing bear ears/accessories. We suggest a voluntary contribution of £1 per family.

We will send further information nearer to the above dates.
