Weekly Newsletter - Friday 3rd March

Dear Parents and Carers,

World Book Day

Well done to everyone for the fabulous costumes on display today, there were some very creative ideas, which I have no doubt took quite a while to make. Well done to all of the parents!  The pupils have had a great day in school listening to  authors, reading alongside their peers and decorating their classroom doors. Look out on the blog for the photographs of best dressed and door decorations.

Mother’s Day

Fundraising
We are planning on hosting the first Summer fete that Broadford has seen in a good few years. We would love to make this event a fabulous community day for the whole family. We already have loads of great ideas in the pipeline but obviously we need help to put all of our plans into action. If you would like to be involved please come and join the fete committee.

There will be an initial  meeting on Tuesday 7th March at 3.15pm. Once you have collected your child if you make your way to the front office we will meet in the conference room. The children will be able to go to the library to watch a video for the duration of the meeting.

Parent Forum
Our parent forum met on Monday for our Spring term meeting and discussed the parental feedback that we have received regarding our stay & learn sessions, pupil passports and attendance and punctuality.
You may be aware that by September 2023, all mainstream schools will be expected to provide a compulsory week of at least 32.5 hours by the government. This means at Broadford that we will need to extend our school day by 15 mins. Currently our doors open at 8.30am and pupils must be in school by 8.55am. There are a variety of ways in which we could extend the school day and we would like to hear from our parents what your preference would be. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey via the link below and state your preference. I would like to thank you for your cooperation in advance.

Please be reminded that your child’s sQuid account should be topped up at all times. We cannot provide dinners for pupils whose account exceeds a debt of £10.
