Part 1 Broadford News
Parents Evening
Thank you to all parents who attended parents evening this week. We hope that you enjoyed the opportunity to meet with your child’s class teacher to discuss their learning journey. Many thanks to all of the parents who attended the RWI session on Monday, we do hope that you found this informative.  


Healthy Weight
Havering are currently consulting residents on a healthy weight strategy for the borough. If you would like to share your views on this strategy then you can do so via the live consultation here


New menu 

Havering catering services have a new menu that will be starting after half term. The new menu is packed with healthy vegetables and tasty treats to tantalise those taste buds. Remember, that school lunches are free for all pupils. 


Fundraising
Adventure Island Wristband - £15
We have 300 wristbands for Adventure Island priced at £15 each. This is a great day out for the whole family and at a reduced price. If you would like to purchase wristbands they are available from the school office before and after school, cash only please. 

Mothers’ Day Sale
Once again this year we will be selling Mothers’ day gifts. These are priced at £3 per gift. There are a variety of gifts available, key rings, socks and pretty coasters. If your child would like to purchase a Mothers’ Day gift please send the correct money in an envelope clearly marked with your child’s name and class on the front along with the number of gifts required. You can start to send in money from Monday 12th February, Pupils will choose their gifts after the half term break in time for Mothers’ day on Sunday 10th March. 


World Book Day
As usual, the school is taking part in WORLD BOOK day on Thursday 7th March. Children are asked to come into school dressed as their favourite book character.   You can join us in building your child’s enthusiasm for books well beyond World Book Day by reading together regularly and joining your local library if you are not yet a member. For more information about World Book Day, ideas for World Book Day costumes and ideas on sharing books at home, visit worldbookday.com.
You will be receiving a voucher today which the children are able to exchange for a book at any participating bookshop. 


Half Term: Monday 19th - Friday 23rd February

The children’s last day this half term will be Friday 16th February and the second half of the Spring term resumes on Monday 26th  February. We look forward to children returning to school on Monday 26th February, the doors will open for breakfast club at 7.45 am and the doors will open for all other pupils at 8.30 am.

Job 3 - Be kind and polite to everyone you meet

Parent responsibility - Model politeness and kindness to everyone you meet.

Housepoints

Pupils are awarded housepoint for using kind words and actions and demonstrating good manners. These go towards their house teams weekly total but they are in competition with their  teachers (Dudley - orange house). If pupils do not demonstrate these behaviours then the teachers' house teams are awarded the house points instead.
